Unlimited Memory MP3 Player

Published by GadgetSpy April 10th, 2005 in Gadgets, Portable Audio, Audio, Storage.

unlimited mp3

Ok, so strictly unlimited is quite a claim to make! but this mp3 player has no built in memory, simply an SC card slot for expansion.

And the blurb:

The choice of memory options isn’t the only thing that makes the Unlimited Memory MP3 Player super-convenient. It’s also small enough to fit in your palm, measuring a miniscule 5.5 x 4.5cm, and is extra lightweight too – you’ll hardly even notice you’re carrying it. The half mirrored, half brushed metal finish is clean and stylish too. If you want good old-fashioned quality from a very modern device, look no further.

Uses 1 x AAA battery, available from us. Measures 5.5 x 4.5 x 1cm.

Features:

  • Expandable up to 1GB (no built-in memory)
  • Choice of four sound equaliser options (Normal, Jazz, Classic, Rock)
  • Playback sequence selection (normal, repeat, repeat all)
  • FF/REW for content of single song or next/previous song selection
  • Windows compatible file system as removable drives (FAT)
  • Rapid download through USB interface
  • Lock-up function
  • Protection data and ‘prevent the mistake’ action

Specifications:

  • Segment LCD Display: 30 x 10 mm
  • Data transferring interface: USB 1.1
  • Bit rates: MP3 format 8~320kbps
  • S/N ratio: 90dB
  • Earphone O/P: 50mW
  • Frequency response: 20Hz~20kHz

System requirements:

  • Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP
  • Not Mac compatible

Also available with 256, 512mb or 1 GB cards, see below.

To be fair then, £25 for an mp3 player isn’t bad, especially when you can arguably have ‘unlimited’ capacity by carrying a stack of SD cards around with you :)

Also 1 AAA battery and a nice 5.5×4.5cm palm size make this a very reasonable price. On the other hand, there is no mention of MAC support nor any indication of the battery life, which could potentially be the downfall of such a cheap device.
