iCare Mobile For Kids
Published by Budda June 6th, 2005 in Gadgets, Communication, Mobile Phones, GPS.With all the news about the dangers of mobiles for young brains it’s a suprise to see a mobile phone for small children is ready for launch from GuideTek Technology.
It’s one of those products that looked as if it was too crazy ever to be sold as an actual product; but here it is.
Designed for children from ages three to ten years old. The handset is so simple even an adult could use it. No screen, four speed dial keys on the bears hands and feet and that’s about it. The four speed dial keys send pre-programmed messages and SOS side keypads for emergency cases.
The upcoming dual-band GSM model will also include a GPS locater so anxious parents can keep track of their wandering tots. The model can also monitor live sounds surrounding the environment. The i-Care allows 1.5 hours for talk time and 160 hours for standby time. It measures 97.5 x 62 x 28mm.
The handset manufacturer weren’t best pleased with UK company Communic8 for pulling out of the UK distribution of the phones. Because of this a UK launch date is still not confirmed. Until then you’ll just have to keep an eye on your three year old.

Cute looking cell phones and I am sure they will be useful during an emergency. But a cellphone for a 3 year old? Come on! Have we all forgotten the times before the cell phone was invented?!
