Ambient Executive Office Dashboard

Published by Budda June 14th, 2005 in Gadgets, Computing, Wireless, Communication, Home, Misc.

Ambient Office Dashboard

Wireless alerts in your home, represented with some retro analogue style. That’s what the limited edition Ambient Office Dashboard brings to your home.

These days we have so much information to keep track of it’s difficult to stay on top of the important things, and the not so important ones!

The dashboard features three analogue needles which are configurable to display digital information important in your life.

Swappable faceplates make accessing new information instantaneous just insert a new faceplate and the information changes automatically. Choose from many current faceplates; stocks, weather, traffic, exchange rate, email notification, pollen count and more. There’s further add-on faceplates planned for the end of 2005! The dashboard includes 30 content faceplates that can be inserted into each of the three Dashboard faces.

Spookily, no WiFi, ethernet, computer, or Internet required — just plug it in and start receiving information - the device makes use of the mysterious “Ambient Information Network” which is broadcast nationwide.

Measuring 11″ x 3.5″ x 2″, the dash will fit nicely on top of a side table and impress your friends with strange information.

ThinkGeek has obtained a limited number of early-release Dashboards direct from Ambient Devices. These are units from a small pilot run and are being used in anticipation of a much larger deployment. Therefore, not all web content is available, and service is not yet at full reliability. Because of this, Ambient Devices has agreed to waive all premium content charges to all customers until full deployment is complete. This is a great opportunity to be one of the first users to try out the Dashboard product.

Be one of the first to pilot this new system for just $99 @ ThinkGeek. Sadly the pilot is for use within the US only, ThinkGeek wont ship the item outside of the US.
