Casio  EX-S500 Camera

Casio has added to its Exilim Card range with the super slim EX-S500. The 5 megapixel camera is 13.7mm at its thinnest point. Despite only having a 3x optical zoom, the S500 features Anti-Shake DSP and also has a 2.2-inch LCD.

Movie capture is 640×480 at 30fps, allowing recording of up to an hour (if you happen to have a 1GB SD card). There’s also a Past Movie funtion, which enables recording five seconds before the shutter button is pressed.

- Miniaturized digital camera with a retracting 3X optical zoom
- Employing high density technology - 77 cc volume just 16.1 mm thick (thinnest point: 13.7 mm)
- EXILIM Engine image processing module, which includes the Anti Shake DSP
- MPEG-4, VGA (640×480 pixels), 30 fps enables high quality movie taking
Casio  EX-S500 Camera Front & Back
- Super life battery allows up to 200 pictures per charge, based on CIPA standards
- Movie can be shot continuously for 1 hour and 20 minutes
- 1 hour of movies can be taken in “Normal” mode using a 1GB SD memory card
- Ready to take pictures in approximately 1 second
- Approximately 0.008 seconds release time lag
- High-speed picture playback of approximately 0.1 seconds interval
- Continuous shutter function - approximately 1 second intervals
- Digital interface TFT LCD 2.2 inch screen for easy viewing
- AF assist light function allows for perfect focus in dark places.

- USB cradle connects camera to PC or TV
- “Photo Loader” software which facilitates easy transfer of pictures to a PC
- Windows Media Player 9 (movie playback software)
- Ulead Movie Wizard SE VCD (movie editing software)
- Multi-lingual menu display
- Compatible with PictBridge and USB Direct Print
- Compatible with ExifPrint (Exif 2.2) as well as PRINT Image Matching III
- Internal 8.3 MB flash memory, SD memory card/MMC compatible.

The stainless steel-bodied camera is available in meister gray, fiesta orange and nordic white in July (Europe) priced £299.99.
