Connect, Draw & Remix CDs
Published by Budda June 28th, 2005 in Gadgets, Audio, Misc.A concept for interactive CD packaging has been developed that uses printed postcards to remix music and store your mixes or share them with friends.
Connect…draw…remix uses conductive ink to let you control music using a simple pencil. The object includes cardboard packaging, an enhanced audio CD and a set of printed postcards.
You plug the CD box into your computers usb port via a cable, and insert one of the supplied postcards in the boxes interface.
The idea works by measuring the resistance that the pencil creates between conductive tracks on the printed postcard. If you are happy with a mix, you can remove the card and save it for later. The remix is “stored” on the card until the next time you insert it, when it immediately plays back.
There is no commercial interest just yet, but the creator says it is viable. You can find out more about the creator, Matthew Falla, on his website.
