Nintendo DS GPS
Published by Budda August 8th, 2005 in Gadgets, Computing, GPS, Handhelds. An enterprising guy has added GPS navigation functionality to the Nintendo DS handheld. A home hacking project has integrated the Lassen iQ GPS module in to the NDS via the Pass Me serial port.
The program is loaded via the Gameboy Advance cargtridge slot. Map tiles are downloaded from the Google Maps servers with a small script. You have to specify your address, so that map tiles around your area are downloaded. There is also a parameter for number of tiles you want. Zoom levels are possible but require to have a few tile-sets, one for each zoom level.
Currently the NDS WiFi is unused, so you need to download your map data before you set off on your journey. However i guess it wont be long until the WiFi is reverse engineered.
The hacker is planning on releasing his code for others soon. You can read up on the developments on the natrium42 blog.

ok Will You Natrium42 release the arm 7 code to execute this mod for both superpass and passme? also a pre-modded passthrough serial?
Is there any way that I can be traced using a GPS reciver thorugh internet, like if am outside and my GPS is working is there any application by which anybody can trace me sitting on computer?
