iPod nano not up to scratch

Published by GadgetSpy September 26th, 2005 in Gadgets, Portable Audio, Audio, iPod.

ipodnano

The iPod may have got off to a great start sales wise but it seems that the screen on the Nano is made of plastic and scratches really easily rendering the color display pretty much useless.

A thread on the apple messageboards here is currently up to nearly 300 replies / rants.

Whilst looking for more stories we found a site specifically setup to deal with nano rants at flawedmusicplayer.com which currently reads “I ran out of bandwidth. I am moving to a different server”.

Apple claims that its award-winning design team have produced a screen made of the toughest polycarbonate but stores will examine requests for returns of damaged players.

We thought the iPod nano stood up extremely well when it got trashed not so long ago :)

I have had my iPod Nano for a total of 5 days. During that time it has been alone in the pocket of a cotton shirt or khaki pants. The screen is already covered with faint scratches and is becoming hard to read. The device is designed for portability - and I am not afraid to even take it with me to work. Cases are not available in most retail stores and may online advertisers have a 4 to 6 week wait.

What are we supposed to do?

thats noncense it does get scratched very quick even if u use it carefully. Apple even knows it because the ipod NANO now comes with a free protection cover. Does that sound fair to u?

ive had my nano for a couple of weeks now and not a scratch I have a skin for it but if you look after it its not going to get scratched. It would of been a good idea if apple made the product stronger before they realeased it. Just look after it..it wall last longer…
