XBox 360 PSU Brick Shocker!

Published by Budda November 14th, 2005 in Gadgets, Consoles & Video Gaming.

xbox360final1

With the XBox360 USA launch imminent, retail boxed versions of the first “next generation” console have started to circulate. Much to the suprise of some new owners, the power supply shipped with the XBox360 isn’t very slick.

Microsoft XBox representatives claimed that previosuly leaked pictures of the XBox360 power supply was only for their protoype systems.

As you can see in the comparison photos, the long black beefy looking power supply is huge, and nearly as long as the console itself!

Has Microsoft simply removed the power supply from the console to reduce it’s size from the original XBox?

Another happy owner of an X360 made a video of the unpacking of a fresh console. You can see the power supply here in all it’s glory - in addition to the rest of the Xbox360.

As we can see now… Microsoft weren’t exactly telling the truth about prototype power supplies.

    That’s HUGE!

Still, I suppose I can always hide it behind the tv.
