360 boxes for sale on eBay

No you didn't read the title wrong, people are actually selling Xbox 360 empty boxes on eBay. Whilst link selling and other scams are nothing new the rush for the new console is making more people fall for these tricks than usual, especially on the run up to Christmas.

NewsFactor has some more information and quotes on the story here entitled Xbox bidders warned to beware and listed the following examples:

"Microsoft Xbox 360 Premium Edition!! Package for sale does not include: * Xbox 360 Console * Xbox 360 Hard Drive * Xbox 360 Wireless Controller * Xbox 360 Universal Media ...."

One listing -- titled "MICROSOFT PREMIUM XBOX 360 PIC!" -- displayed images of the actual console, offered an extensive technical summary, described the frenzy surrounding the machine, and then disclosed what was really for sale:

"Why not remember this craze with a picture?" Up for auction is a computer printed photograph of the brand-new Microsoft Xbox 360."

A quick search of fleaBay eBay shows people selling links and other rubbish, just remember if people are selling an Xbox 360 Premium Pack Box it could actually be that, an empty box!
