Japan Snubs XBox 360
Published by Budda December 13th, 2005 in Gadgets, Consoles & Video Gaming. There’s news coming in from parts of Japan days after the XBox 360 launch there. One shopper from Osaka has already found the console price being slashed just to shift a box or two.
The originally 38,800yen (about $350 US) consoles have been lowered to 18,800yen (about $150 US) with Internet Service Provider contracts so that the shop could get some kickback money from the ISP.
Bloomberg is reporting that they sold 28% of units sent to stores for the Japan launch. May I suggest the remaining units get forwarded to the US to stop all the sex offers?
Nick Brutal pointed out “While a successful Japanese launch and life might help Microsoft in courting Japanese developers, the video game market in the United States and Europe has grown so much, that this doesn’t necessarily mean an early death for the console.”
