MicroRobot - Something tiny for Christmas

Published by Gonzo Pete December 19th, 2005 in Gadgets, Robotics.

micro

So in the true spirit of pointless gadgety type nonsense i present you with this. Following on from our Robotics article, these little guys offer little in the way of interaction yet still cry out for attention.

Microrobots are tiny, and by tiny we mean roughly 500 microns, static statues. With the average human hair being 150 microns you can apprecitate the scale of this quirky gift idea.

Each robot comes in its own space age case with a built in magnifier for viewing. They are meticulously crafted from different materials and are made using the same procedures and equipment used to make micro-fluidic bio-sensors, capillary electrophoresis chips, and electro-statically actuated resonant amplitude grating structures. I haven’t a clue what any of those things are but they sound really small!

Available in limited numbers due to the item being discontinued. Get them from ThinkGeek now, while stocks last.
