Ibiza Ride Watch
Published by Budda December 20th, 2005 in Gadgets, Fashion, Watches. We’re big on obscure watches here at Gadgetspy, and this strangely named “Ibiza Ride” watch is another attempt to make telling the time confusing for anybody except the wearer.
Time display uses three columns of LEDs to display hours and minutes. The first column represents hours, the second represents tens of minutes, and the third represents single minutes. So if seven lights are showing in the first column, two in the second and three in the third, it’s 7:23.
Reading the date works in the same way. To activate the date mode simply push the function button twice. The first column represents the month. The second and third columns represent the day.
As with the recent X-Ray LED watch we covered, the display of the Ibiza Ride is not constant and does blank after 5 seconds of pressing the function button in order to conserve battery power.
The watch is constructed from stainless steel, with a leather wrist strap. Oh and it’s water resistant to 30 metres for when you’re diving from your yacht off the coast of Ibiza next summer. Why is this watch called an “Ibiza Ride” though? It’s just odd.
Compared to the timepieces we’ve featured in the past from the likes of Tokyoflash.com, this one is a little more pricier - and I’m not sure the extra cost makes it more desirable in this instance.
Available in the UK from Firebox.com for £129.95.
