i-Mate are JAMin
Published by Gonzo Pete February 2nd, 2006 in Gadgets, Bluetooth, Computing, Wi-Fi, Communication, Mobile Phones, PDA, Internet.I-mate has revealed details of its new PDA, the JAMin. The quad-band device runs Windows Mobile 5.0 and features the usual media player, MSN and Explorer.
HTC have been producing superior devices for some time now and is seems this handset is no exception
The device has GPRS/EDGE support. It also supports bluetooth 2.0 and wi-fi. The JAMin has a 200MHz TI OMAP 850 processor, 128 MB memory and 64 MB RAM (up from 47 MB on the first version).
Also a QVGA 65k TFT touchscreen, 2.0 megapixel camera and MMC/SD memory card slot are built in the successor of the i-mate JAM.
The only thing that concerns me is the lack of 3G, which should in my opinion be standard for windows based web browsers/PDA’s. GPRS just doesn’t cut it in terms of download speed and video calls.
Though i’m sure as the components shrink the spec will inflate.
Lots of spec info over at gsm.arena
