PS3 to have PS2 compatibility.

The new PS3 will be backwards compatible with PS2 titles

The Sony Playstation 3 will have a built in PS2 chipset, so that all PS2 games can be played on it. The Xbox 360 decided against this, and tried software emulation instead, but this does not allow all Xbox games to be played on the 360.

The PS3 however will play all PS2 games, for anyone who cannot let go of old favourites
