The Slanket
Published by Budda October 19th, 2006 in Gadgets, Entertainment, Fashion, Home.As the winter weather seems to be setting in already here in the UK you want maximum cosy factor when sitting on the couch playing with your gadgets or watching TV - and this nifty twist on the traditional blanket is the solution.
It isn’t a complicated gadget - it’s as simple as a blanket with holes in. But the location of the holes is the key here - holes for your hands to pop out and fiddle with your Nintendo DS or PSP, to press the TV remote, to change track on your iPod - even to read a book!
Made from thick and warm 310 gsm fleece that feels very soft on the skin, and is available in a selection of colours to match your home. It’s difficult to picture what a 310gsm fleece is like until you pop it over you - and you feel a near-instant warmth from the Slanket.
The “sleeve” holes are baggy to give you enough room to poke through, whilst keeping your body heat locked in during the winter months.
Some of the smaller people to try it out on the couch found it a bit over bearing in size, and the weight can make you feel a little over-powered and swamped. The Slanket is large enough to keep a 6′ 3″ adult covered fully with bags of room left.
It’s a quality item, and a great Christmas idea for the couch potato.
Costing $55 each, you can order on line in time for Christmas from www.slanket.com
