The Swiss Army Phone

n95

Recently announced is this little beauty. The Nokia N95 has pretty much every conceivible extra you could wish for. In fact if it was running Windows 5.0 it would be perfect. But thats just me, i'm not a big fan of Symbian.

OS aside the N95 breaks the mold with a 5 mega-pixel camera, Wi-Fi and built in GPS.
5 Mega-Pixel camera you say, indeed. Throw in the Carl Zeiss optics, 2592 x 1944 pixel's and bright TFT screen and you've got the makings of some beautiful photo's.
Following on from the N80, from which this phone owes its looks, you've got your Wi-Fi, EDGE and 3G.
Adding Bluetooth 2.0, infrared, MicroSD and USB ports gives you truly universal connectivity.

Even the internal memory has been under the knife with a massive 160MB on board. O.K so it might not sound like much but you'd be surprised by how stingy the big name mobile companies are with their onboard memory, preferring the user to pay the extra for cards.
You get all the usual extras and one thing i do like is the built in GPS with pre-installed maps for over 100 countries.

n95

Other Spec

  • Symbian 9.2
  • 3.5mm audio output jack
  • Stereo FM radio
  • Dual slide design

Best estimates put the release date at early 2007 with most sites quoting the end of Feb-begining of March.

As always the good folks at GSMArena have the 411.
