In Desperate Need Of A Wii

The are rumours abound that the Nintendo Wii is in such high demand that stores are struggling to provide enough consoles.

Websites such as Wii-consoles.co.uk have been set up to help shoppers find out when stock becomes available.

Nintendo said it was "doing everything possible" to keep up with demand.
With Christmas drawing closer Nintendo is set to ship an extra 3.5 million consoles globally. It is not known how many extra consoles will make it to UK shelves.

In April Nintendo estimated a yearly shipment of 14m units, but that has now been raised to 17.5m

The shortage will be good news for the competition however and Sony and Microsoft can no doubt expect a lift in XBOX and PS3 in the last desperate days of frantic Christmas shopping.

A quick scan of eBay gives some 5000 results for Nintendo Wii consoles, although sellers and buyers alike are aware of the shortage it would seem, as prices appear to be on the higher side of the RRP.
