Samsung Monitor with 2 Displays

Still on the topic of hot gadgets being presented at CES 2008, Samsung has come up with the SyncMaster 2263DX - a first of a kind monitor, at least I haven't seen anything like it.

In case you didn't notice, the latest Samsung LCD monitor actually includes two displays: the main one that measures 22-inches, and a smaller one attached to the right side, measuring 7-inches.

While you work on the main monitor, the secondary can be used in plenty of scenarios, such as: chatting on MSN, video conference, displaying specific tools on design programs like Adobe InDesign, and last but not least, you can use it to play Solitaire.

Dobs, I think it can be pretty useful for designers too, it will be like the ultimate time saver!

With cheap monitors at 22" & 24" I thought Samsung's mulit-screen SyncMaster technology had become redundant until I saw this screen.

I guess gamers may be interested, or people who love to chat on webcams (as it has a built in 2.0mp camera), but otherwise I think it will have a pretty limited market.... unless it includes a HDTV tuner as well :)
