Thinness is a defining factor for many consumer electronics products nowadays and Casio knows it. The Casio EXILIM Card EX-S10 is, according to Casio, the world’s smallest and thinnest 10.1 Megapixel camera as of today.
Coming in four colours (silver, red, black and blue), the Casio EXILIM Card EX-S10 measures 3.71-in in width, 2.15-in in height and has a thickness of .59-in, the thinnest point even measuring .54-in! The product has 3x optical zoom and high-res images are made possible by a newly-developed 1/2.3 inch CCD. The 2.7-in wide LCD uses Casio’s new Super Clear LCD technology which boasts high contrast ratio and high resolution which makes pics bright enough to be seen even in daylight.
The device also has an auto-shutter feature which uses motion blur detection technology. Its functionality is to make sure that the picture is taken only when motion stops (i.e., when you pose for a smile). The Casio EXILIM Card EX-S10 records in an H.264 video standard; a standard which utilises the AA codecs, making clips compatible with iPods and the iPhone. You can also record wide-screen format videos using the Movie Button.
The verdict: the Casio EXILIM Card EX-S10 is sleek, slim and sexy and depending on the price (which isn’t announced yet), it might just be well worth the investment.
