The Seitz 160-megapixel Digital Camera

Published by Mariella Moon February 6th, 2008 in Gadgets, Cameras.

Seitz D3 Digital CameraThere are times when your 10-megapixel camera just can’t do the trick — and Seitz knows it. Enter, the Seitz D3 Digital Camera.

The model is not a 10, or a 16, but a mind-boggling 160-megapixel digital camera. The extremely high-res images don’t come without a price though — the Seitz D3 Digital Camera is enormous! It measures 6×17 inches and looks too hefty to be carried around.

The Seitz D3 Digital Camera takes photos with a resolution of 7,500 x 21,250 pixels and a whopping 900MB file size per pic. Needless to say, the usual storage solution might not be a good option. Hence, it can be connected to tablet PCs.

While the idea of having a 160-megapixel camera is quite novel, the question remains: do you really want or need this camera which costs US$45,000?
