P.L.E.A.S.E., Needles No More!
By Mariella on Friday, February 8th, 2008
We know you're probably past the stage of flipping out at the thought of needles (at least, we hope most of you are), but wouldn't the world be a much better place if there's another way to administer injections?
Taking advantage of the LEDDT (Laser Easy Drug Delivery Technology) technology, which is a transdermal method of drug delivery, P.L.E.A.S.E. says bye bye to needles for administration of high molecular weight drugs. By P.L.E.A.S.E., we meant the Painless Laser Epidermal System.
The device administers the drug via creating aqueous micro pores in the skin's epidermis. It won't hurt because it doesn't reach the dermis where your nerves are. For people who need regular injections like diabetes patients, P.L.E.A.S.E.will definitely be a big help.
