Dishwasher-Safe Keyboard

I wondered why I’ve been catching my sister’s colds recently, when I was made aware that keyboards could have twice as much bacteria as toilet seats. No, seriously.
Keyboards could nurture germs for weeks until viruses are passed from person to person. As a solution to the problem, Seal Shield (a company specialising in manufacturing washable computer parts) released a washable keyboard. Silver Shield’s keyboard is equipped with miniature cylinders encasing silver ions, which are antimicrobial agents. These are embedded in the keyboard’s outer plastic covering. The silver ions are released upon contact with water. If you’re wondering how you’re going to wash the areas beneath the keys, the keyboards also have small holes where water can pass. Nice, eh? Perfect keyboard if you’re sharing your computer with other people.

great idea, these keyboards get pretty disgusting over time….
